corolla v. mustang

this is very off topic so i was just wondering who do you think would win in a race, a....

125 hp, 1.8L, auto, fwd (duh)

vs.

1998 ford mustang lx
150 hp, 3.8L, 5 spd, rwd (duh)
3210lbs
140,000 miles

i say this because my friend thinks his car is the shiz, when it really sucks for a v6. seriously, 150hp is bad for 6 cyl, when my accord is (or at least pulling when new) 140hp. the toyota is my moms. it has really good pickup and go and still drives like it's new. my mom drives it like a granny. i'm pretty sure this mustang has been abused in the past. so just lemme know how you think it would go down

this is way off topic but your post reminded me of this and i figured id post it :

It's not everyday one gets a chance likes this. I got to drive my mother's Toyota Corolla.
After the keys were tossed my direction I was alone with the car, a car with no boundaries and no inhibitions. The pinnacle of Japanese engineering and optimizations, it reeked of a thoroughbred nature. The boxy shape, the humble stance, the 14" steel rims clad with plastic hub caps and Cooper Ultra Ralleye Sport Tour radials foretold of an experience laden with adrenaline.
I fastened myself into a cockpit that a Formula 1 driver would be envious of: A 3 point safety belt, fuel gauge, 85 mph speedo, and 1 pine tree air freshener. The four banger sprang to life and I was on my way looking for less capable prey. As luck would have it I pulled up besides a mustang. A glance over to the paltry machine made clear we were "on" for a race. The light turned green and I gunned the rocket ship away. The engine and car were so smooth I didn't notice the rapid pace of acceleration, what a smooth machine. As I looked at the speedo and noticed it was up to 20, I looked back at the stang I left behind. My victory was short lived as I realized at that moment he was in the turn lane.
With much regret I handed back over the keys and got back in the SHO. But the memory of the Corolla will always remain.

yup the ford v6 is slow but has probably close to 100 more ft lbs of torque and will still pull on a corolla

ahha. yeah, i don't think i'll race though i just wanted to see what you guys thought. my friend with this mustang piece really needs to be smoked because he thinks he is the best and i know it wouldn't take that much of an effort to beat him with a lot of cars out there. just wish my mom was driving with an accord v6
