funny i got the same response when i put my wheels up on craigslist. same questions, same 3gs, i wanted to screw with him too, i wanted to figure out if there was any way i could pocket some cash but i never persued. good luck on trying to fuck him over, im sure they do this all the time to it might be tough. you could try to say something like... i have alot of people locally interested but i would like to sell them to you, cause it sounds like you are serious, would it be a problem for you to paypal me $20 and i will hold that until i receive your check, something like a downpayment so that i dont sell them to someone else... im sure they will have some excuse but you could try.

honestly i'd go through with it and try cashing the money order.. if it works keep it if not tell them it was sent to you from a transaction online!!! whats the worst that can happen honestly, you still have your tires!!
the police cannot do anything to you for trying to cash that money order/check..

matts bank will charge him a returned check fee because the check will NOT clear if he tries to deposit it. a money order is nothing more than just a check written by the post office, and in this case, its a forgery. ive dealt with fake MO's and bank checks from these scams, ppl bring them in sometimes.

theres no easy way to turn it around and screw this guy over, since hes not sending you real money, and since youre the one cashing/depositing it, the consequences will be on you.

what i would do, is reply saying something like yes, agreeing to his terms. and asking him when hes going to send it out. and when he gives you a date, tell him that you'll send the wheels/tires out the same day he sends the check out. that way, him and his buddies will think they're getting a free set of wheels/tires. then from there, just wait for him to ask where his wheels/tires are at.
i dunno. it's what i'd do. i'd act like a total sucker, telling him that i'd ship and everything, and TELLING him that i would ship the wheels/tires the same day he ships the check, then see what's up. chances are, he'll drop?
dunno. it's what i'd do
