diag has been put on hold for a few days, it's pretty shitty around here, and the problem only seems to be happening during hot weather temps.

I just had a random thought....Have you popped open your ecu and checked to see if any thing is leaking? (transistors, caps, etc). I know tcus are notorious for going bad like that, maybe the hot weather is just making the problem noticeable.

I was gonna vote for ignition switch too
I don't know much about them, but could it be that when you tested it for continuity, that you tested it during the time it was working, but not the time that it wasn't?

This is irrelevant because i dont think n e one can get into your gas tank but i heard once that people would put condoms in gas tanks to fuck with someone they didnt like and it would get sucked against the filter and cut fuel off from the car causing it to just "die" and it would drive peeps crazy trying to figure it out so im pretty sure this isnt it only because i doubt anyone got to ur tank and im not even sure if its possible to get a condom down that far..i dunno i just thought at this point u could check for any kind of blockage in the tank....i dunno....good luck with that dude that would piss me off!

            i have a thought

i used to have an ex 90 sedan an it would do the same thing it would die in hot weather. i have a good feeling that its the main relay. it is the thing that controls the fuel pump. if the main relay is faulty, there will be no current going to the main relay. it sometimes switces on and off. i have 4 of them because the same thing happend with my 90 dx coupe and i replaced the main relay and it works fine now starts everytime. if u want i can send u one for shipping cost only.

No, a bad relay only prevents the car from starting. It doesn't make the engine quit when its already running.

I haven't tried that yet, I might have to do that if I can get the problem to surface again. and if all is cool there I"m gonna heat test my main relay, I've got one sitting here at my house I might just replace it for shits and giggles. This is why I went into service advising rather than techin I hate diagnosing problems.

I cleaned my IACV and it seems to have cleared it up. Try that.

91acrdwagn did you end up finding the problem? I'm still trying to diag. mine.

4CYLPOWER if the main relay is faulty, then going over a bump will lose the connection, meaning no power to the fuel pump. Is that true? Why does it only stop it from starting?

I don't really know, but thats been my experience and everything I've ever read about the problem.
