    JDM h22 tranmission info help

Hey everyone as you know your h22 type s candidate needs your info on the stock h22 jdm tranmission. For starters im getting my synchros changed might I add I have a bit of a grind in second and 3rd when i runt he car hard. Ive narrowed it down to my tranmission synchros. Now the solution I plan to take my transmission out and take it to a local whos good at doing tranmission fixes. An ASE certified mechanic well doing transmission is not my fortee so ill be brief.

I need to know the following now the jdm h22 gears are shorter than the usdm gears but about by how much. Ive spoken to gearspeed they said that the gears on the jdm is shorter than the usdm. I wonder if it was worth it waiting for the gears to arrive from them aswell as ordering the carbon coated synchros from them or should i go with the usdm gears that way theres more availability. Because either way its one of the other. And are they interchangeable.

Last but not least just how short are they in difference in the gearing and will it somehow hinder my times? Can anyone please post the difference in the gearing the jdm tranny vs the usdm tranny gearing? If you can that would be greatly appreciated thankyou.

what is your complete goal for the car? are you going just for the quick 1/4 mile times or overall top speed? it really depends. since i do a lot of mountain driving, i like the short gearing. sometimes when i do top speed sprints i can go to 100mph quickly but then can't go any faster than 113 (governor limited) but i'm already about to hit vtec by then.

talk to 91hybridaccord. he has carbon synchros in a h22a tranny with lsd. he also knows scott (2point6) from collective racing. i'm sure they can be of great help!

listen to this guy. I already know scott lol thanks for the help though and my synchros are already here. im not worried about topspeed atleast not out here anyway for that matter. Its more like quartermile without changing final gears. Im changing the synchros thats all.

If you want a shorter ratio, slap in a circuit worx 4.70 final drive....it works great.....although it will heavily hinder your top speed....and drop it down to about 135 or so at the top of 5th.....

Just a warning, the final drive whines a bit....and its expensive.
