    heres the delimma

Ok guys i have been back and forth on what motor i want and how much its going to cost so on and so forth..
Alright so i have been calling the shop for the quotes on swapping and all kinds of stuff. At first if i supplied everything +H23 its $750 for the swap. If i Supply the motor in general its $750. so now i am thinking about just keeping my F22a6 and just maybe try and build it up a bit.. Im not lookin for crazy speed and i am on a budget but im also trying to figure out what would be worth it in the end and what wont..
Now i found an F22a6 online with 100k miles for $299 however the guy is still charging me $750 for the swap. Not to mention shipping is $280.

So, i can get a H23 for $1100 shipped to my doorstep and yet again he will charge $750 for the swap. however i need to add on to that the ECU that i will need for this swap..
Now i can also get the H22 for $1400 shipped or $1600 shipped with the ECU then the $750 again for the swap.. Now here is my biggest dilemma being on a budget i pretty much have about say $1800 to work with right now and thats where my biggest problem comes in..
Also the guy at the shop said they have a JDM F22? thats the same motor as mine? if thats true im not even sure at all but they want $995 for that plus $650 for the install.. So guys as you can all see this is a really big dilemma for me because i would like to purchase atleast a new exhaust for my car to go along with the motor and thats $215..
See if i where to stick with an F22a6 motor i would do some stuff like cam exhaust, H23 intake mani and other odds and ends..
Also i cant find anybody to really do a rebuild for under $2500!
Well.. Help me out guys and point me in the right direction..

check out www.tigerjapanese.com, they are selling cheap H22 short blocks for around 800. btw, the JDM F22 DOHC and the F20A DOHC are very nice motors.

if you are going to put in a USDM F22AX motor, I suggest building it first; then get a short geared transmission: H22 or H23 transmission.

there are many options; I found it easy to write everything down. Its much easier to picture.

all i can say is... 750 is shitty for the labor on an H install.

and 650 is absolutely ridiculous for an F swap. a lot of people can do it in a day and be done with it.
