I would go with these guy's hunch's and inspect the knock sensor wiring and make sure you got the right pin in the right ECU plug before buying another sensor.

I dont see any way a knock sensor would make the car run like shit unless it put it in limp mode, in which case he WOULD have a CEL, which he doesnt.

I personally think there is something going on with he ECU itself,or doesnt actually have a p13 (did you check the side of the ECU for the code?), or he is running a manual p13 (even though it really shouldnt matter), or he has F22 injectors, which are a different size than the H22 ones. there is no logical reason for the car to run perfect (or so he says) with the F22 ECU over the H22 ECU unless ones of those conditions is present.

if the car ran like shit with BOTH ecus, then it would be a different story.

it did sound like a limp mode type of problem that knock sensors and h22's are common for... but non-code is wierd.... it probably is the ecu... how old is the fuel that is in the car? cause i was always told especially with a JDM p13 that hight octain fuel should be run because the obvyosly have more agressive timing and fuel curves... that was just a thought.. good luck with the problem man.

just a thought...are you sure your cel light isn't burned out? phatdoughnut had that problem with the f20b swap he just finished a few weeks back and couldn't see the codes he was throwing...

wtf,,,,, why didn't i think of trying that,,,,, my girl just told me she put the cheap shitin before the swap,,,, i'll try that ... I gotta run the car till it runs out of gas,,,,If that doesn't work i'll swap that ecu, then check the knock sensor,,,, But It hasn't thrown any codes,,,, when you turn the key to open ignition the light comes on but start the car it goes off ...... It's gotta be one of those things.....

if the fuel was bad, you would have the problem with Both ECUs. the p13 fuel/ignition maps are only more aggressive up top. it wont affect idle/part throttle much

if it happened with both ECUs, i would say it could be a problem. but not just with one.

yea your suppose to run decent fuel from what ive collected....at least 89 i think, but no i dont think cheap shit would cause it to misfire if thats what you were saying, it would probably run like shit but i couldnt see it running as shitty as youve described.

O and you might have a drain plug under your tank...i didnt know i did untill i filled up with a tank of bad gas and when i took it in they said i had a drain plug which saved me mucho money so instead of running it out of gas drain that suka! Good luck!

when I changed my fuel pump I drained about lil more than half a tank.... That was an experience when you have nothing to drain it other than with 1 gallon milk jugs ....
