look this is what you do, ditch that solenoid and all that shit. just plug it from the by-pass valve to a open vacuum source in the back of the manifold and your golden

this method DOES NOT work like its supposed to....as soon as you hit WOT the IABs will open.....only way to corretly have the IABs closed til 4800rpm is to have that solenoid!

x2, From what I can tell on my h22 (iabs hooked directly to the intake manifold) the iabs wont open UNLESS u go wot. I'm also trying to get an iab solenoid and vac box, junkyard here I come.

or you can just not hook up the vacuum line off the diaphram and the secondaries will remain open all the time. you will loose low end torque but i'd rather lose that than high end power. gas mileage will suffer a bit too.

you can also use an IAB box from other motors like your f22a6 (EX, SE accord motors), integra GSR, etc. good luck!

They will open anytime the vacuum in the IM drops low enough to no longer keep them closed. Abrupt throttle movement will do this also.

Rev your engine and watch them open.

Whats the problem? my car is fast with them being hooked up directly to the intake manifold? and i get great gas mileage too.

                    >off topic< I didnt want to start an entire thread for this.

Is it possible to retain IAB function with the P28 ecu? Or would the hondata system have a provision to make it work properly? And at the very least could a RPM switch be used to control them, augmenting the P28?

Phearable.net said they could not add IAB function to my P28, but only because they test all their ecus in car and they didn't have a test vehicle for IAB. I'm sure it can be done
I heard unplugged from vac is better if no box.
I also have a friend who got shorter hardware for the manifold and removed his butterfly plate completely with no noticed drawbacks.
I'm going P28 + Skunk2 manifold to benefit from no IAB control

I have vac boxes/solenoids from H22s, H23s and F22A6s, let me know if you still need one.

to wire the iabs into a p28 all you gota do is solder a few wires and resistors. well, its a lot easier on an auto p28 because it has most of the stuff needed for iabs, the manual ones are a bit more complicated.
