Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

I know this has been a very simple all motor bolt on build, and if i would have had the money and the parts at the same time, it could have been completed in a day or two .. but i couldn't of done it with out you guys, so thanks for answering all the questions and giving good advice.

so thanks to those who have helped me, and no thanks to the haters lol. I'll get some video's and what not up asap. when the weather clears up ill be going to the track to see how close i can get to my goal of 13.99, so keep this thread alive for a little longer

went to the track today. worst day of my life. ever. Show up at 10:30 with hopes of getting lots of runs in. I ran 3 times, only 1 of which i didnt shut it down halfway through. broke my throttle cable, and my speed sensor....

very first run of my life ever is the only run that i finished. launched, hecka bad wheel hop. All of a sudden, near the top of 1st car loses power, just for a split second, then kicks back in, resulting in hecka more wheel hop, slam it in second, even more wheel hop.

anyways the wheel hop and lose of power resulted in a 2.8 sixty footer . finished with a 15.2 @ 96mph....

this is what happend to my throttle cable

dont ask how, but the metal casing that is around the cable became pinched and twisted, thus making the cable immovable, thus my second run resulted in the throttle being stuck wide open, and me having to turn the car off half way down the track.

so now the speedo doesnt work, and the car is hitting the two-step at 5k whenever i try and speed. drives fine under normal rpm range.

horrible day. someone please talk to me

Thats the egr plug, don't worry about that. Your ecu doesn't look for it.

The speed sensor is in the back, towards the rear mount.

ya its in a hard to get to spot basicaly under the throtle body. Same launch control rev limiter happend to me cuz the speedo wasn't hooked to the ecu.

would it be easier to go from under side?? my only guess is the super duper wheel hop caused something to come apart. lol my radio and clock flew out it was so bad

ya, I'd work on letting the clutch slip more next time. The track usualy has way too much traction for a street car to launch on. It is typical to only get a few runs in. I usualy get like 2 or 3 runs in at a testntune. As for the speed sensor, you can get to it from the top, just push everything out of the way to get to the bolts.

even if i slipp the clutch when i launch, when i put it in second, it bounces like 8-10 times before gripping. ima get an alignment and see if they can adjust my camber

Try bringing the tires down about 5psi and it will most likely help. Even with camber off it will help to add to the contact patch. If you have to, slip the clutch going into second instead of dumping the clutch. What psi were you running?

first run they were at like 45. after that i lowered them to 40 but i never got a clean run again. wheel hop shouldnt be happening. i never got an alignment after i put my suspenion in. ima try and get one this week and see if they can fix the camber a little

unless your runnin a track bar wheel hop will be there. Take your tires way lowere than that. Atleast 30lbs or less.

                              That was the iacv.

And wtf are you doing running your tires at 45?

damn dude, why 45? what tires and size are you running anyway? depending on the sidewall and tire compound you might need to run them anywhere from 22-30 psi
