ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    ECU tunning about the IABs?

Hi ther i read your forum and stickies and i was wondering how do i get the IABs to work on a P06. I just send it to get tune i read that it was possible to add it on to the P06 but i couldn't find a link as to how?

Or how are u guys running the IABs so that it works?

some one told me just run the vacum line with that little valve thats in between the vacum line to the trhottle body and that it will work. Is that true?

Yeah i have read lots of threads but people say they don't open all the way like they should thats why. this is what the tuner told me:

Tuner: the ecu can't be made to operate the iab's. what i do and have everyone else do is connect the iab diaphragm directly to an intake manifold port so they open and close according to manifold pressure instead of rpm. that way they still open at high throttle for the higher rpm power, and are closed at low throttle for the low end tq and better gas mileage while cruising. and i set the basemap up for that knowing what manifold pressure they open at.

Chip the P06, run Crome and use a map with IABs. You will also have to run a wire from the ecu to he IAB pigtail. Connect Black/Yellow wire on solenoid to switched ignition, the other to pin A17.

Hope this helps. By the way, I am running a P06.

You should be able to wire in IAB electrically just like the p28 by jumping two pins. And you need a "black box" that was on the intake manifold that has the actuator to operate the IAB. If not hooking up to vacuum should suffice but they will open early. As I recall an earlier member did an IAB test and it would open all the way at 1500 ish rpm or 2000 there is a video somewhere on here about it.

            The first section on
            USDM ODB1 B18C: ( ECU sends ground, IAB wired to +12v )
is what you need to do to modify a p06 or p28 to run iabs like stock. I lucked out and got a good deal on an auto p28 so all the components I needed were there already.
