I think someone enjoyed my drunken back to the future fairy tale I posted the other night.

Is that part made of stainless? If so it may have excellent chassis conductivity through the temporal time flux.

I highly recommend you tape that part to your forehead and ground it to the chassis. If you dont do this and you hit 88mph, the ungrounded power surge from the flux capacitor will seek the path of least resistance, grounded you will be shielded.

Long story short dont drive 88mph before doing this, or your head may blowup. Us here at cb7tuner care about your safety, therefore we may require pictures of the unit properly installed as I previously mentioned so that we can stop worrying about your safety. I highly recommend gorilla tape, superior adhesion and insulating properties. Go now young padawan.

wow, that part seems to stump everyone, i honestly dont know what it is but ive seen similar in my buddies accord who (like someone said above) had a alpine head unit in it previously. coincidence? i really dont know.

No way. That is CLEARLY an OBD1 Flux Capacitor unit.

The pre-OBD Flux Capacitor had that cumbersome Mr Fusion unit, which was replaced by the high-tech RGG MWM9013 module. This module doesn't need an external source of power. It runs off of the car's own gasoline. MPG declines when it's in use, however... so it's wise to travel to a time when fuel is considerably cheaper than it is now!


The OBD2 Flux Capacitor units are integrated into the ECU, to comply with OBD2 emissions standards. The original Mr Fusion created a hefty carbon footprint. The OBD1 RGG MWM9013 cut that down significantly, but it's still not quite as good. The RGG MWM9013 tended to burn the fuel so hot that the catalytic converter didn't work as effectively as it should. Certain people, mainly rich Hollywood types (like Michael J Fox... time travel causes Parkinson's when abused...) overused the system. It created a TON of smog in CA, which is the whole reason for the OBD2 progression.

Just like the man stated above when a person doesnt properly adhere the cranial flux isolation unit like I mention adverse effects can result. Michael J. Fox was a rare case, his head didnt implode but now he has parkinson's. My theory is that he was somewhat shielded by his thick celebrity skull.

throw it away. it came in all higher end head units to reduce audio noise thus increasing signal to noise ratio (by isolating that device instead of putting inside the head unit). Your car was probably broken into before (or maybe before your ownership and the thieves cut that wire to get it out fast. Just toss it out before it gives you tetnis.

I read in an earlier post that it had an opening for an antenna. That might have been an FM modulator. There might have been a CD changer in your car before. They might have just left that piece in cause they probably didnt feel like going thru the trouble of removing it.
