ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.
2 of 2 < >

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

how do you know when someone replies to you?

hey everyone, i was just wondering if someone can tell me how to find out when someone replies to you or quotes you.

ive been leaving the thread open and constantly refreshing, but i know there has got to be a more practical way.

ive already searched the FAQ and it didnt help. searching came up with nothing as well.

    any help will be appreciated!

    -mohammed

a little bit, thanks. but what about when you put a reply to another persons thread?

for example: im replying to your quote now. how did you find this out?

            A. by keeping a window with this thread open and refreshing it every once in a while

            b. some type of notification

            c. other

            sorry to be a bother

A lot of visitors are active enough here that if they make some posts and then leave the website, they will return soon enough that they will still see their message toward the top, as well as the replies to it.

You can subscribe to any threads that you would like to get email notifications about, but they get annoying.

What I usually do, is click the New Posts button. Lists out ALL new messages. Then scrolling through the list, you can use the little indicator icons to see which of those threads contain any posts that YOU made. Those are the ones you'll want to open up and check back on.

Good luck, you have discovered what makes "online forums" slower-moving than regular online chats!

you can also just click on your name. when you get to your own profile page, you can click ''statistics'', then either choose '' find all post by....'' or ''find all threads by....''. if someone has replied, the thread title will be in bold. later.

The control panel is my home page. I have all my subscribed threads and forums in there, so I can see at a glance when something interesting is going on.

That's how I do it. (Name will be in Red next to welcome or any where your name is) Unless you have a great memory of all the places you posted, it is the most logical.
