    Woot! I finally found a 240sx

After a couple months of searching, I finally found a 240sx that I wanted.
For some reason, everyone in central texas wants a minnimum of $1000 for rolling shells that have salvaged titles or were in wrecks... I found this one with a clean title and no wrecked damage that I can find.
So now it's sitting in my parking garage until I move in to the new house with a garage.

It has a spun rod bearing, no carpet or back seats, and no stereo.
But it does have Cusco sway bars, and nismo traction brace. (I think that's the offical term for it.) the body and frame are straight and solid. has some minor dings and dents, but nothing I can't fix myself.

Now it's time to start eating ramen so I can get the project under way.
    RB POWA!

    Mine.

    How much?

It looks/seems like it's been pretty ragged out, but a good recipient for a swap either way. Nice find.

      $1100 in total.
The guy threw in some spare parts for the car too that I'll probably just sell anyways.
It does look a bit tattered, but the camera I used also sucks really bad.
I'm just glad I found one that's in one piece.
they're a pain to find around here for some reason.
Too many kids trying to be like Takumi I guess.

clean pick up, s13s are getting harder to find without frame or other body damage. going with the rb25? i'm debating between syko performance and mckinney mounts for my own rb swap. oh and you must be talking about the nismo power brace when you said traction brace lol. i'm still trying to figure out the suspension components.

                      Yeah that's it, power brace.
Yeah, I'm going RB25 and using syko stuff. I like that their kit allows for a lower and more rear-ward oriented mounting set-up, plus they have an exhaust elbow with their kit to prevent the downpipe from hitting the steering shaft.
Plus there's a how-to DVD you can get that covers the whole RB25 swap in the S13 process using the syko mounting kit.
I plan on using it for reference when I get stuck.

                        Sounds like a plan.

how much harder is an RB swap than an SR swap?

either or, two of the most respectable motors in japan history.

Well since the RB has 2 more cylinders than the SR there's a lot less room in the front of the bay. You pretty much have to get a new radiator and slim electrical fans.
                            There's also the custom mounts.
                            R32 cross-member
                            Wiring
                            drive-shaft
                            and intercooler set-up
                            That's just for the installation.
There is a lot less support for the RB than the SR, and parts for it are MUCH harder to find.
Thankfully there are other sites like CB7tuner that have insane amounts of information and resources for RB motors and swaps.

Basically, SR swaps are kind of like H22's for our CB7's.

Of course RB20's and RB25's are easy compared to the RB26...
