I'd go for the one with the lowest price x mileage product, and the most recent timing belt job.

Look into insurance first. I just got a bb6 last month I pay 283 a MONTH for full coverage. You cant get anyone in the backseat, theres NO trunk space. But I like mine anyway.

The 6k lude seems to be a good deal to look into. Fixing 5th gens are so damn expensive to fix though compared to other Hondas. If something goes bad on them it will take some a good chunk of money to fix the problem. A guy I know bought a 5th gen to fix and resell, he thought it would be a pretty cheap fix but all the parts were like triple the price of those same parts for like an Accord.

Like what? A lot of the stuff transfers over from the 6th gen Accord.

Full coverage on one of those for me is about $400/mo for me... liability only is about $200. Definitely look into insurance on these cars.

Strangely enough, insurance on a 6th gen Accord is about the same for me...

He told me that the car didn't have it's key so he had to change the ignition which cost him $1k. He usually fixes up Accords and he said that he's never fixing a lude again since the parts for it are way too expensive compared to Accord parts.

Yaw, the mileage x price is good, but where does year factor into there?
I don't think there were any significant changes from 1997-2001, someone correct me if im wrong.

blackice, All of the cars are the base model, non type sh.

wrichards2005, People getting into the back seat and trunk room are not a major concern of mine, rarely does anyone ride in my back seat of my accord.

I'll have to check up on insurance, im only gonna get liability, the only reason for full coverage in my situation would be for theft.

Mike, I was thinking of just getting a 5 speed and h22 swap and calling it a day, but i wanted to try something different. The rust on the cb is starting to reappear and it only gets worst from there. Then there are a bunch of minor things that have to be taken care of. Of course fixing my car and swapping it would be cheaper but i figured what the hell you only live life once, gotta make the most out of it, experience different things.

For a while now i've been looking for a nice cb7, it HAS to be rust free, clean, maintained, 5 speed, and a coupe. When i find that car, i'll buy it.

Yeah but thats the thing cars rust its a proven fact especially in our city. When the time comes for the car to get bodywork jump on it. Think about it its been like a good 7-8 years since i actually had to do body work on my car since i hooked it up and it worked out pretty good for me no complaints. Everycar rusts bro just because you dont see it doesnt mean its not there. And another thing you buy another cb whos to say if youll see the problems that car has minor/major that you dont see .

Atleast you can see the ones on your car because you actually got to know your car and take note of it just imagine gettin another car that looks nice on the outside and overtime your like damn this cars got a real problem more than my car. Bite the bullet your gonna swap your car anyway heres your chance to make it a 5-speed I guarantee you youll be very happy with it. As a matter of fact didnt we have that discussion at the bp gasstation when i poppe dmy hood on my car then ran a couple of people thats what an h22 can do for you. Yup I bet thatll change ya mind.

Almost all of the cars i've seen (online and in person) are either silver or black, I came across 1 red one and 1 dark green but those were automatics.

The year is of no consequence. At this point it's all about maintenance and mileage. A '97 with a good owner will do you more good than a trashed '01. And again I'd go for the one with the most recent TB job... meaning one with 120-130K might be better for you than one with 80-90K.

Insurance is so killer on these cars though.
