My question is, wouldn't using hids for anything other than headlights (ie constant on vs quick on/off) significantly shorten the bulb life? I've heard about this issue concerning using hids with drls. Like when you turn your low/high beams on causing the hids to turn off for a second...

Most of the time your lows stay on when the highs are initiated..... Would it make sense for them to turn off for some reason.....

that's the issue i'm talking about
            also... http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthre...t=drl+question
my question is aren't hids worn out more quickly when they have to relight for short bursts at a time (not have hardly enough time to even warm up before being shut back off)?

More and more rice. Why pay out the ass for some shit like this might aswell be driving backwards or leave it in reverse just to see how bright you backing up on someone and blind them to death just to run em over.

exactly, how often do you back-up? and at night? i can see the point of having them for a show car but spending your money for these for as a daily driver...dee dee de. retard IMO

IMO it looks great, but the functionality doesn't justify the cost...couldn't you just use a hyper white bulb??

I think we have the same backup bulb number. Can I get some more info on this? Is this real HID (with ballast) or just the hyper white bulbs? I am using the hyper white bulbs right now and while backing up most the time I can barely see where I'm going (town prob can't afford streetlamps).

My friend has a similar setup to that in his em1. He just replaced the bulb though hella lot better view when reversing out of dark as hell parking lots.
