Crappy way to wake up...

So while I started to pass out on my couch the other night. I was startled out of sleep too a horrible crash in my living room....

My 51" plasma decided it didn't like it's stand anymore
But seriously though, be weary of tempered glass.
Anyone else have this happen?

I had to move it. there was no time for pics while the tv was chillin in the stand lol.

If the tv was on top of that stand, then that's scary as I have one similar, but of wood, not glass. Maybe it had a stress fracture?!?



If it was wall mounted above that stand, and fell crushing the stand....

well then that's why I don't like wall mounting tvs lol.

I had it fixed the next day. The hardware store had black pre-fab boards in 6' lengths for $13. I cut it down a bit and bam, new and improved...

That's how the wife and I feel about it. cheap easy fix, and nothing else was damaged.
It was crazy to have seen it. After it happened we just sat there in awe for a couple of minutes

The glass def failed prematurely. I would have called that company so fucking fast. That tv could have fell on children playing on the floor in front of it....id be pissed as fuck.

The stand was for 50" or less, I bought it for a 46" lcd originally that crapped out under warranty. So we upgraded to a 51" plasma 3d.

I didn't call American to bitch, I was just happy everything else was ok after the violent burst of glass. I was surprised the tv still works lol.
