If they don't just die, they are like a 1/2 oz object that holds onto your clothes and requires force to remove. You cannot just brush these things off. Step on one, guts spew out the sides of your shoes and shit.

These things are nasty as FUCK and I would avoid them at all costs. Especially during this crisis level event.
    Basically lol.

It probably wouldn't be so bad for me, if I didn't have my first encounter with them as a kid being a fucking empty shell.

I was in my above ground pool, in NYC around 1985,6,7.

Maybe it was 88 not sure. We moved in 89 lol.

On the wooden fence I saw this HUGE bug...startled the shit out of me.

So I inspected it and low and behold, it was a skeleton.

My heart sank lol. I was like omfg what the fuck is that.

Idk, it left a lasting impression on me.

I know Butterflies and Snakes do the same shit, but at least its not a crunchy shell that resembles a huge bug.

    Ugh.

After that I came across them in South Korea and it was no big deal, as they were annuals.

Ill post pictures if I can find them. I took some last year in my backyard of annual cicadas. I thought it was weird last year as I thought they were only every so often but I now see that they are around every summer, but my worst fear is coming to life this fucking year lol.

No lol, cicada do not bite and they are bigger.

But the horse fly bite is pretty bad from what I hear.

Whenever I see any fly bigger then a normal house fly, I run for my life.

          Flamethrower.
I see that shit and it's starting fluid and a torch.

I've done it for ants before.
Picked up a small boulder and saw thousands. Set the rock back down, went to get the fuel, and cleaned house.
After, I put down ant poison, which I could've done first. But flamethrowers are so much fun!

I've seen them numerous times over the years but I remember one year when I was a kid they were really bad...like thousands of them everywhere. I was in kindergarten so probably '85 or '86. We moved to town in '87.

There are two things I remember about the whole scenario.

              1. We had a baby pool in the backyard filled with water probably 20-30ft from the house and my brother and I were taking turns running from the house to the pool and by the time I got there I'd have probably 100 of them on me(or so it seemed) and I'd jump in the pool and lay down and they would all fly away...but as soon as I stood up they would come out of the trees and swarm me. Lay down=fly off....stand up=swarmed. I didn't think it was creepy at the time.

              2. I lived in a small backwoods village in rural OH back then...like under 10 city blocks small. We had quite a few good 'ol boys around that would "harvest" them, dip them in boiling chocolate(to kill them and give them a candy coating I guess), and then advertise them for sale on the bulletin board at the only store in town. So I'd walk into the store and look over at the bulletin board and see a polaroid pic of a brown glob with two wings poking out the top. Gross..

                  He has a 09 Fit.

How much does that car weigh? 30lb?

He drives so much for his jobby lol...

his car is going to be weighed down by these things.

                  YUCK

                    I'm 33 btw. I've seen some things. Things I can't unsee... haha

But I haven't seen the ground covered like that. The latest pic looks like a bunch of shells. After they come up out the ground, before they turn into flying hell.

This makes me want to take my bumper off and put some gutter guard or mesh in there so they can't clog up my front end when they come out.

I too, have committed such acts of genocide against the ant civilization.

                          Lol

I used a propane torch for a while, then thought it would be fun to spray starting fluid through the flame and HOLY FUCK that was a bad idea.

                          LOLOLOL, fun times man.

I have a phobia of bugs.i can deal with ants and smaller bugs but i see im going to have a fit if i see a swarm of these things. My grandparents have the green ones down in south carolina but you only see one or two stuck to the house.
