I showed this in HT, but nobody cared. Maybe you'all would appreciate it more here. It's my gauge cluster. I put the indiglo behind the stock gauge faces, and used UV led's to illuminate the needles which I painted florescent yellow.

    It was a pain.

Looks like your car was stolen, stripped then recovered...are you painting the hood, looks like its been sanded down? Well good luck on the project.
Is that a JDM shift boot? Hope your keeping it the same color.

haha, i thought u were showing us pics of a car u were parting out, or a theft recovery... make sure u post pics after its done!

good job on the cluster, AWESOME idea of putting the indiglos behind the stock faces! how do the yellow glowing needles work, do they noticably glow, that u can see them well at night? ive been meaning to try that, i bought a few UV LEDs a while back.

im a fan of modding the cluster myself... not to be a whore, but i think ud appreciate...

          keep up the good work!

have you raced the car with everything stripped like that? i saw that you only gutted it for the body shop... but i think you should race like that (if everything follows rules for the track)!

at any rate, i DO like the cluster and haven't thought of that idea myself. very cool and unique idea and it looks great.

well... good luck on the future mods

That's a good idea, I never would have thought of that myself however my idea which I don't mind sharing cause I don't have time to figure it out myself was to get illuminated needles, for example the 99 RL's and illuminate though and turn off the forground lighting in the cluster so I'll just have the nice blue/green gauges with amber needles. See now that would be the shit buddy.

The florescent paint makes the needles glow bright under the UV LED's. Here's a shot of the bulbs, stock next to the replacement.

I notched the LED with my dremel's fiberglass cutting wheel and twisted them into place. Then soldered them. The 12V led's are availabe on e-bay in a pair, but I bought four to play with.

do you not need a resistor with those leds?
has anyone here seen the intelliglow needles? those are tight too bad they aren't available for our cars....maybe someone will be figure a way to mod them
Personally i like the cluster, it's unique

have you ran your car at a track with all the stuff out? pretty sure it'll look good with all the stuff on it.

I'm working on a DIY for the cluster, but I can do a cluster or two if you pay shipping, parts, and $20 fee. I went through 5 clusters to get it right, so I got pretty good at it. Takes me about 1 hour to finish a cluster.

                              Parts needed:
1 master cluster (matching your car)
1 extra cluster (to get cut up)
                              1 set indiglo gauges
$8 for LED's, or buy them yourself (link at bottom)

                              Get LED's from this guy:
