lol that header looked nice. thats usually the case when you paint it because the thing gets so damn hot. did you ever think of heat wrapping it? it would probably last a lot longer than the paint. mine has been fine for a year now

the tune was pretty good! long weekend for sure... great to spend time with MRX and the others and get to see the master at work.
biggest problem, unfortunately, is that for some reason the nitrous wasnt reaching the nozzle. the fuel was, but no n2o. so we took a while to tune the car's existing map, which had a number of spots that antoine had to tweak. we then worked on a nitrous map taking care of tuning for the extra fuel, but dammit, we didnt get to feel the nitrous
i was also having a number of oddball ignition quirks that took some time to straighten out, but thats no biggie.
though now the car runs nicer, stronger, smoother. it idles lower, more consistantly, and much more smoothly. the vtec crossover is fantastic. the car runs and idles much better now, im really happy with how it feels. it feels more finished, and doesnt seem to have as much of a 'mind of its own'.
now that i know the car is running on a solid tune and im getting a good AFR across the board, im no longer worried about going the extra step and running the nitrous.
soon im going to dig back into the engine bay and redo a lot of the wiring and plumbing underneath the intake manifold. i want to take apart the nitrous solenoids and find out whats blocking the flow. also i decided that im just going to pull out the power steering lines entirely, get the best feel that i can, because its going to be a long time before i bother finding and hooking up an electric pump. maybe someday ill hook it back up, but for now, im going to run completely looped. i also need to do a lot of rewiring and retucking of ignition wiring.
as i get accustomed to the feel and use of nitrous, and get situated with a 2timer ECU setup, next time MRX comes up ill go for a more finished nitrous tune.
but overall the car is running fantastic and im settled with what seems like no real problems to deal with. so i look forward to making PROGRESS this summer, instead of just fixing problems!

it's good to hear that your car is running better than before. sucks that you couldn't feel the juice though. haha. what do you plan on doing with the power steering lines? are you going to use a reservoir to keep an eye on how much fluid is in the rack? are you planning on keeping the lines that run to the VSS? just wondering what you have in store as far as that goes. i'm sure you have it all planned out already.

glad you're pleased mikey. I just had an idea. We need to research the way the 2-timer switches maps because we could probably integrate the arming switch for your nitrous into the 2-timer so that it switches to the nitrous map at the same time.Knowledge is power...in EVERY sense of the word

Well..I guess that isn't all that practical for DD's, lol.

... lame, what a waste of effort.

Originally posted by TypeGfrom what i understand about high temp paints, you have to do a ''bake on'' procedure. this is a process of painting the header and installing it, then starting the car and let it idle for 20 min. after the 20 min, turn the car off and let it completely cool and repeat 2 more times. this should be done without any throttle. maybe it will work for you in the future. later.wat?
