a nitrous button for your hidden system? nice! but why wouldnt you go with a programmed window switch with an arming switch?

haha friggin mike, no surprise here! but really what does it do? is it a tribute to the 50's where the high beams were triggered from the left foot?!

the pedal button is a temporary design, i plan to make it a little nicer than just a big fat button mounted on the top... but... really its just a doorbell, it dings when you press it.

or its for the NAWWSSSSS!!! either way. i give credit to oneoff for the idea as a pedal. dont like the WOT switch idea because its limiting control options. this way i can hit it on demand, and only when the car is in gear! if i go to shift, i have to move my left foot... so nitrous cuts out.

hah! actually the first button i went with was a high beam switch from back in the day!! then i opted for this simple horn button, because its momentary and not a latching click-on click-off.

You got to love that idea mike. i cant wait to drive it when its all tuned

                          Comment

so in preparation for MRX tuning the car, i took the header and downpipe off to weld in a second o2 bung. its actually a Ford spindle nut welded on by oneoff :P hey it works.

while the header was off i tried derusting it and it cleaned up well.

i laid a couple good coats of gloss black high temp paint for coverage

and a couple thin coats of Cast Coat Iron high temp paint for colorage

                            ehhhh?? nahhhhh

                            much better

i was painting the bung rustoleum flat black, and covered the whole downpipe while i was at it.

so with the header all ready, i made a short o2 sensor extender

and hooked up my stock o2 in the new location, with a bung in the stock hole in prep for MRX's wideband o2.

once everything dried i took it out for a drive. within 5 minutes the header paint started to sizzle and smoke. it literally bubbled and turned wet as if it were a layer of boiling water at the bottom of a shallow pan. very weird looking. once it all burnt off (within the hour it took me to drive to jersey) it only left a faint pink dust on the bare metal runners, with bubbly corroded paint still on the flange.
... lame, what a waste of effort.
