Dang mike that sucks about your head.. Good luck with the A4 head, and hope modifying the intake manifold doesn't take too long since your keeping the euro r manifold.. The port job on the new head looks decent, good luck on the install and keep us updated. Let us know if your selling that euro r head. haha...

alright! im on a 2 week vacation, and i can finally start putting my car back together.
fyi, PB Blaster worked well for loosening the thick carbon buildup on the faces of the valves in the new head, with a little persuasion from Mr. Gasket Scraper. B12 chemtool made the remaining carbon on the chamber wipe clean. the combustion chambers are now totally carbon free. I will be dropping the head off at the machine shop to be checked over, make sure the valves all seal well, and possibly run over the mating surface just to make it perfectly smooth.
i will be installing the new head as well as rebuilding/refurbishing the suspension. i wont be porting out the intake manifold's runners until ive been able to run the head for a while and make sure everythings running fine, then someday ill take it back off to port the runners and possibly bore out the TB, but thats future plans, possibly next summer. fortunately the manifold is easy as cake to remove, as theres barely anything connected to it.
the suspension is being completely torn down to the chassis and reassmbled fresh. i have Urethane replacements for just about every piece of rubber, and i have a $100 box of brand new OEM hardware on its way. damper forks, lower control arms and the likes will be sandblasted and repainted. if i can get around to it, id like to remove the dirty wheel well undercoating and spray a fresh clean layer on.
i am keeping my existing Neuspeed Race springs and Tokico HP/Blue shocks, as theres really nothing wrong with them. i plan to get a set of Koni Yellow shocks down the line, but they can easily be swapped in later. i have a feeling i wont be getting rid of the springs any time soon, as i think they're the perfect height.
heres the breakdown list of parts ive collected in preparation:
- prelude front calipers and brackets (JDM )
- Brembo Blank front prelude rotors
- Wearever rear accord rotors
- EBC greenstuff pads, front and rear
- new front bearings
- new 2.3CL front hubs for ROH conversion
- OEM upper control arms and anchors (clean j-yard)
- SPC front balljoint camber kit
- SPC rear upper control arm camber kit
- OEM front lower balljoints
- Goodridge SS brake lines F&R
- Russell speedbleeders x4
- Energy Suspension full front bushing kit, black
- Prothane full rear bushing kit, red
- Energy Suspension front sway bar bushings & links
- Suspension Techniques rear sway bar and bushings
- intermediate shaft (not rusty)
- new Autozone front axles x2
- prelude front crossmember and front motor mount (94A)
- big box of new OEM bolts, clips, nuts, etc
plus a few other new parts:
- Walbro 255lph fuel pump
- smoked clear distributor cap with built in MSD coil terminal
- MSD 6AL ignition box with 8000+ rev limiter chips
- MSD HVC II ignition coil
- battery jumper terminals for the engine bay
a few parts (axles, OEM bolts, misc) are missing from the image below, they are currently on their way to my house
stay tuned for updates in the near future!

heres some pictures of the new head after i cleaned it today. it is in fact a 1995 head, but its no different than any 92-01, so it doesnt matter. its clean, and thats what counts.
and what the car looks like right now:
