hahah yeah but its just weird... normally i had my specific tools that i used all the time, the ones that u always need when working on a CB. different length extensions, a couple bolts are 1/2"s now (my positive terminal is a 12mm, my negative is 1/2"... how annoying). the screws for the battery cables in the fusebox are 10mm bolts, not 8mm screws. always gotta have a clean rag, as well as zipties and a soldering iron. i <3 my carLast edited by cp[mike]; 09-12-2007, 09:00 PM.

"HANDS OFF MY CAR, BITCH."
its weird, my concern about the exterior went from 75% to 15%. im more pissed about paint chips in my engine bay than scratches on the exterior haha. this car's body looks like shit, it needs paint so bad...
over the winter: work on the interior, mainly the dashboard (lude cluster and car PC)
next spring: tear down and redo the suspension. buying a welder and a paint gun & tools would be good, as id like to learn how to do both.
next summer: rust repair, body work, PAINT...
chances are i wont be able to get things done that quick, but im goign to be going back to school full time to finish in September, and i wont have much time or money after that point... so i will try my best.

well alrightey.
it actually runs quite well? false alarm about the off timing or whatever it was, i guess the dry motor and tranny needed some time to absorb some oil i let it sit and idle until the thermostat popped open, and it sounds 100% healthy. gives off a smooth even exhaust tone. im going to go back outside and let it idle through a couple cooling fan cycles (make sure those work). the heat blows hot, and the A/C blows cold.
as far as post-swap status, the motor runs pretty darn well. the only CEL is for the VTEC solenoid, which is because i never hooked it up. a tiny oil pan leak (grrr) but still, thats easy to fix. its idling high (1500-2000) but thats easy as well.
steve always said the euro-r had a life of its own. sitting untouched at idle, it used to stay at a perfect idle, then for a little while itd vary +/- 50rpm, the needle would jiggle around a tad. then out of nowhere the idle would pop up +500rpm and settle back down to a perfect idle again. itd do this randomly, whenever it wanted. i figured pulling everything apart, cleaning it, and redoing everything the simplest way would solve this, but i dont think it has. its showing signs of doing the same. i really dont mind at all, its just funny. and i think its doing a pretty good job regulating idle with having only the IACV... theres no FIV, no idle screw, no air boost valve, no nothing... the only way to adjust the idle is to adjust the throttle plate's stop peg.
anyhoo i need to go out and bleed the clutch some more, apparently what i had done wasnt enough. there was no air in the line, yet the slave had barely any travel. its a very hardly used slave (25k mi, original one from the euror) and a brand new master cyl. we will see. unfortunately this isnt one of those "ill fix it after i take it for a test drive" things, the car isnt going to move until i take care of that.
oh yeah, and heres a videooooo

i drove it for the first time today.
ends up the clutch slave cylinder was bad. $23 later, i was out driving around. stopped off to see larry/oneoffaccord at work, got some air in the tires, got gas, and picked up a new brake master cylinder, since the one on there is semi bad.
apparently hydraulic cylinders go bad when theyve been sitting on the shelf for a long time, even though they are hardly used... the clutch slave i had only had ~25k on it, and the brake master only had 40k. both have been sitting dry on the shelf for 3-4 years. oh well, im better off with brand new ones anyway.
this car feels fabulous. its SO NICE being able to drive it again, ive been driving my old stock auto f22 grey sedan for 4+ months now. ill be taking it easy, driving occasionally for the next week or two, get the clutch and everything broken in, then ill hit up the dyno with larry
