i would have to run 225/45r17 so i do not stretch tire since that is not safe since the rims are 17x8.5.

I experience some of the same problems. I'm set on getting a new car, but I'm waiting. My order of events will be new motorcycle (a graduation present to myself), new house following, and then when the house is good, new car. We'll see how everything works out.
