hardly. with the dimmer knob turned all the way down, the LEDs will still be brighter than the stock bulbs with the dimmer all the way up.

i'd say im about 60% done with this conversion, but i was wondering where you got the semi-opaque blue plastic/film? I'm currently not blocking the leds for my signals, e-brake, oil, bat and anything else in the cluster that i missed. its pretty damn bright! (i'll have to post pics later)

anyway, where did you find it? im kinda stumped. all i can find is clear blue plastic/film/portfolio etc... I dont really wanna attract too much attention from the 5-0...

edit: oh, and before i forget, is there any way to replace those tiny peanut bulbs (like the ones that light up the door/trunk ajar)?

im worried about having lines too because i had a keyboard before that had LED's on it and i wanted to change the film from clear to blue. i used a sharpie and had lines showing everywhere. i tried making it as neat as possible but they kept showing up

onsoku - i used a blue flexible binder from office max, i was getting stuff for school and i passed by it and it had a nice blue color and grabbed it, it was one of the super cheap ones. its the basic blue flexible binder, try holding it up to the light and see how well it diffuses it before you get it. and no, you cant replace the door ajar lights. well you can, but there is a red plastic layer that makes the door images in that specific shape, so you cant replace it, and since its red, it wont let blue light thru :\

shimoto - yeah, it kinda has lines... hardly noticable once its lit up tho. i just tried to lightly use the marker so it laid a smooth thick coat, and any areas that look extra "liney" i did over with a second, even a third coat.. when its that thick, its harder to see any lines.

br0nx finest - thats something i thought about, i actually have a load of dash switches/ac controls in my room, i made one set and sold it to Jarrett. ive since stopped, i dont have the time for it, and the effort involved wasnt worth the small profit. and abotu the 41k, that was right after i did my first h22 swap, and i rolled back the first wheel of the odo from 2 to 0, so it said 41k instead of 241... i did that since thats about the mileage range that the motor is in. i rolled it back up when i sold the car, and i havent since rolled my EX one, and i dont plan to.

Thanks to my dad:

He took apart the marker and there are little fibers which hold the ink like a sponge. He went across the glass then dabbed the lines and it came out flawless. No lines at all.

Well i just did the conversion last night and i must say it was worth the 7+ hours i put into it. Heres a few things I noticed:

1. For the shift indicator lights (auto) i tried to just put a colored plastic in with the stock bulb. Came out green. Dont bother trying it. You must switch the bulb for it to work at all.
2. When you have the cluster down to just the circuit board, change all the bulbs you want to then take the board out to your car, plug it in, and test them. Then while you are there turn the bulbs so they all light. You dont want to put it all back together, install it just to see your blinker wont light because the blub is backward.
3. Once you find out the correct config for a light, MARK IT. If you have to take it out at a later date, you'll be able to pop it back in confident that everything is correct

I did the entire conversion and I love it but my right blinker is backwards for polarity and i need to sand the back light LED's a little more. Other then that, it looks amazing. If you like the color blue, do it lol
