i really dont care about the brightness but i do care about the color, i may do blue or maybe a super white even though i may not get the color i want..

but i dont want it that bright and im hearing that with the dimmer it doesnt change much.

if i wanted it slightly brighter than stock but still not blinding bright what resistor should i use?

does it matter what viewing angle the led is?

im thinking of doing the main cluster lights and possibly my climate control.

    thanks dude..

lol i still have to get some spare parts for the defrost button and cruise haha cause i gave them to you about 5 years ago lol!
What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.

You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!

    Retro!

i started mine, im doing orange/amber, to match my itr dash clock. i broke my sunroof switch on accident! partially cuz my homies and me being frustrated with something ese trying to help them with that part. anyway, i got the gauge cluster almost done, i need to order a new switch (unless someone has one they can sell me)... it looks sick tho! when i have my interior all black finally im going to decimate all. lol, jk it looks tight so far with the orange lights in the gauge cluster. id highly recommend this conversion, its pretty easy to do as ong as u have some basic knowledge of electronics and plenty of patience. im gonna update my member page in a few days after i put in my CF hood, ill post up my progress. peace.

as far as the indicators, for some reason i was having a weird time with them too... i put the stock orange indicator back in the rear defrost button. i have no freaking clue why that happens, theres no reason why it should, but it does maybe theres not enough current? im not sure. try coloring the stock bulb with a blue sharpie marker instead of using an LED.
try reversing the polarity on the indicator light. it works (well, for me it does).

i think it was more of a current/voltage issue. polarity was fine, i of course checked that... i tested voltage, yet it wouldnt light the LED, and i tried a couple. very strange.

rotate the light 180 degrees and put it back in. make sure it locks in. i'll post a picture (if you want) to show that it really does work.

im telling you it wasnt a polarity issue, lol... i know what im doing with LEDs. it worked for a while then stopped, then ended up working again if the rest of the lights were turned off... it was doing strange things so i took it back out.

im loving my orange cluster, i get soooo many looks from other honda drivers now. i love it.

i just wish i had time to finish it! i need to still do all the controls and my CC, my cars been taken apart for about oh, 2 months now! i am so busy with work because of xmas (mobile electronics) and my gf/kids, plus finishing my sisters alarm... im dying to have a full orange/amber dash. then i can finally get the black interior started once i find a black dash in good condition. good luck to all those who try this. and if u have sunroof controls, take your time it comes apart easily, i broke mine.

heres how you do the door indicators. use 3 mm leds and i'm not sure what size resistors i used but you pull out the peanut bulb, cut half of the stem off so your resistor will have a place to be and not have contact with the other lead, solder you resistor and led together, then feed your leads throught the stem, the twist the leads back up into the hols where the peanut bulbs leads went. the filter will have to scraped with a razor blade to get some of the red off, you cant get it all off but as you see in the pics a little is good enough, using a voltmeter you can determing the postive and negative posts on the board and start installing them, if they don't light up one way then turn them around or check the contacts. this can be done for the gas light too. now to the pics

sorry for the crappy pics, i'll try to get some better ones, was tryin to hurry cuz i gotta go to bed, enjoy

i'd love to do mine all white, but that green filter in the gauges kinda sucks. i guess no one has found a way around it, at least with white.

i take it the blue led's kinda overpower the green filter. later.
I think its a coating on the back of the gauge. Sand it off then polish it back to the same translucency as before.

yes there is a blue coating on the back of the gauges, but theres a coating on top of that. its painted over the blue, on the backs of the numbers in various transparencies based on distance from the bulbs, used to make them all light up evenly. itd make it look funky if you use a bulb or LED bulb, bright spots on the sides...
