irritating sounds under the hood

ok hear is the deal....my 92 coupe 5 speed makes a funny kricket like sound on idle when i have my foot off the clutch, but when i press down on the clutch it goes away any one had this problem and know how to fix it? also when i push the clutch it makes like a screetching sound prolly needs lube or something somewhere but where?

sounds like the throwout bearing.

throwout baring for what? the kricket or the screetch?

It's probably both caused by the TO bearing. Mine used to do it for years and finally went away when I did a clutch job. I was only getting the cricket sound when I pushed in the clutch though. Or maybe it sounded like a screech. It was annoying but didn't cause any problems.

My buddys Cressida has the same issue, jingles around like effing mad but it hasnt explodeded yet lol.

throw out bearing it is. hit me up jay if you want it done. same as your oil leak problem.

urea grease will help.... should use that when doing a clutch job
