    Battery Light Randomly goes off/on!

    So yesterday this occurs...

While driving through a neighborhood, my batt. light turns on going 40 mph. I said to myself "O SHIT!" cuz this is the same thing that happend with my main relay problem..BUT this time it was ONLY the Batt. light...
So anyway i slowed down expecting my cb to shutoff randomly...but it doesn't as i was pulling over into the neighborhood to pop the hood to check what the deal was.

I checked, nothin' seems wrong. I DID notice this though...When i was slowing down to pull into the neighborhood as in letting OFF the gas and onto the brakes...the Batt. light goes away...OFF! I put the Ebrake on...and im idling. Batt. light still OFF!...slowly revved it, and THEN the batt. light came ON!..Let off gas, the batt. light goes off!..So anyone knows what's goin on?

...still did the same thing today and i checked the batt. cables..They're ok..so

      damn clean ride...

but lol i dont think i can tighten them belts anymore!...I literally tore the head off on one of the long screw im suppose to use to tighten em WHILE trying to tighten the belts...How would i fix this btw?

edited: O yeah..they're pretty tightened too while i was trying to tighten em and those screws tore off! So would that mean my alternator is finally goin out? How long can Alternators live?

        thanks

i would try to replace the bolt or possible replace the whole bracket along with the bolts

alternator can fail at any moment. it all depends in the conditions of how it was used. either way i would take it off and have it tested at autozone or something similar.

So them bolts/whole bracket are available at a Dealer im assuming. Is there a DIY or is it not that difficult?

...and 93EX..that's what im assuming is my prob too and my most recent mechanic that worked on my ride also mentioned about my alternator, but i figured he probably is just doin' his job trying to sell.

cheaper at the junkyard than at the dealer. its straight forward, just remove bolts holding the alternator

try to remove the alternator and have it tested at your local auto parts, this will give you a definite answer to your problem.

if its not a loose connection (semi unlikely) its most definitely the alternator. take it off and get it tested...

I had my alternator (OEM 190K) tested at Autozone and it passed the tests within spec, and yet, my radio cuts out once in a while and the battery light flashes or stays on as well. The battery was within spec.

Question is: used OEM with 70k from the junkyard or rebuilt from Autozone?

This is a pleasure car that I'm only investing money in for the safety needs and for essentials like alternators and batteries

on the stairs, she grabs my arm, says whats up,
where you been, is something wrong?
i try to just smile, and say everything’s fine.

alternator, just go buy a brush for your alternator and replace it, cos no more than 20 bux

                      it has eyes!!!

I have one for sale dude. 50 bucks. its for the f22 and it still works. I used a newer alt to get more voltage out of it but let me know.
either kill it or drift it...

I have had two cb7's do this and both times its because the oring that is in the plug for the alternator had deteriorated causing the plug to be able to wiggle around just replace the oring and you will be good.

If you take your car to Advance they have a portable battery/alternator tester. They'll come out and test both for you free of charge.
