Once your manifold heats up, you won't even know you have a crack. Mine has been cracked since I got it, no problems whatsoever, and it's in the exact same spot. Seems to be common.

my header leak is the same way. My car sounds like ass til it gets warmed up then it is fine.

But the crack was my excuse for buying my header. And the leak is my excuse for buying a DC sports. hehe

If you don't want to upgrade to a header, then the crack is repairable. Grind and / or file into the crack to open it up and expose clean metal (not all the way through though), then have a welder braze it up. Note that I mean 'braze', not weld.

Before you braze, take a 1/8" drill bit and drill right through the casting exactly where the ends of the crack are. This will remove the sharp stress risers that exists at each end of the crack, and help stop it cracking again. Braze up the holes when you braze the crack.

^^good info, do that. And then coat your header in a high temp ceramic paint so it looks new

                    OR...you could UPGRADE using OEM

                    get a F22A4 header.....sand it....paint it..then get some header wrap..and wrap it!

thats what I would do...hit up a junkyard and see if you can find the A4 header!

                    its your choice mayne!
92 LX. A6 with GUDE bullfrog Cam. M2S4 transmission..Gutted H23 intake mani. The rest you will just have to find out!
