    H23 vs. H22 Headgasket

Maybe some of the frank motor guys can help me out with this but what are the differences between the h22 and h23 head gaskets?
I'm looking at cometic head gaskets and they don't offer one for the h23, but have plenty for the h22.

Can I use one with my sleeved block and h23 head?

Just looking for a bit of advice, I may have to order an h22 headgasket and and compare to one of my old h23 gaskets (Or does anyone have an old h22 gasket they'll ship me?)

    Thanks.

yo i've got an H23 headgasket.

it came with the gasket set, and didn't fit on my f22B, but if you're in need of an H23 headgasket, let me know. brand new, never used.

He is saying he has an H23 head gasket but needs an H22 one to compare it to to see if he can use it on his setup. You know who might have one...Brian or Jody. Hit them up and see. I can probably get it for you this weekend if they do.

I think they are the same arent they? Looks like it on the engine info. Dunno if the coolant ports and such line up but the bore is the same.

I don't see why they would be different either, but cometic doesn't offer one for the h23, and when on the phone were kind of pricks, just saying that the h23 doesn't have enough demand for them to offer one, even though I believe they are very similar.

I do know that for oem that they are different part numbers, but thats not always that important.

I do know of a company that makes an aftermarket h23 headgasket, but they are so un-heard of that I'm weary of using one. There name is R'ideal, they are offered with F-max turbo kits as a means of making them safer for stock blocks.

Well, if anyone has any more info, let me know.

And Adam, if Jody or Brian has an old one laying around, bring it back to GA and I can lay the two over each other and compare.

Cool, how much do you need for shipping?

On a side note, I was going to email you and see if you had any stock h22 valves you would ship me, or take some measurements of?

I'm trying to see how close the h22 valves are to the h23 and use them as +1mm oversized in my head.

Anyway, let me know on shipping for the gasket.

And no, I won't be using the parts in the build, just for comparison and informational purposes.

Thanks again, this helps out a bunch.
