reverse lights!

Just swapped from a auto to a 5spd and wired up the reverse lights according to everything posted here and other forums. The work was done by a honda tech so im pretty sure its good. Problem is the lights still don't work. Any ideas?

yellow and green/black wire from the switch on the tranny get connected directly to the wires of the same colors on the grey plug that originally went to the automatic shifter. so instead of using the shifter position to make the reverse lights turn on, it uses the tranny switch.
