is that really metal shavings, or just hard crusty dried up oil? sometimes it looks crusty like that, try wiping it up with your finger and youll be able to tell the difference.

from that pic looks like everything on the tbelt is lined up. make sure that 14mm bolt is tightened, then crank it over by hand (counter clockwise looking at the timing belt/crank pulley) a couple times. then loosen the 14mm and retighten it. makes sure the belt isnt still in its folded shape from the bag at all.

get a picture of the smooth surfaces where the rocker arms meet the cam lobes. wonder what could have left all those shavings...

Once you get it running, clean up your engine with this:

Its expensive but it works wonders!

it looks like thats a pennzoil motor man, when people use pennzoil and dont do regular oil changes it ends up looking black and nasty like that sometimes with chunks of carbon in it.once you get it going do a good flush on the it to clean some of that out.hope it all works out for you man.its about time for a turnaround.
im finally back in a cb7 its like coming home.lol

Hey, I say just take a break. You don't have to finish it in a week you kno If you do it while you're tired and fatigued you'll be more likely to mess things up.

that way i dont need the extra person.
