I was driving my car when the battery light started to flicker. the car would not shift into gear and then it cut off. Now it won't start and the interior and trunk lights are dim. I had the battery replaced about a year ago and now I think it may be the alternator. How hard is it to diagnose the alternator and how hard is it to replace?

very likely the alternator, friends saturn did the same....Autozone and the like usually test them for free.....take it down to them and see what they say. Anyhow, best of luck!
