tried a new dizzy, it worked for 5 minutes then stopped again.

      so ive tried replacing:
      coil
      ignitor
      ecu
      distributor (CKP, CYP, TDC sensors)
      main relay
      grounds
      power lines

some multiple times. no spark coming out of the coil, so it isnt a problem with the path its taking thru the dizzy cap and wires.

all sensors are getting powered up where and when they are supposed to be. all wiring to/from the ECU and the various sensors are good. im getting fuel and air, just no spark.

havent looked at it in a few days, been busy rearranging my room i have an extra engine harness that im going to throw on and see if that makes any difference, and then go thru it AGAIN...

if i can narrow it down, i may or may not repair the issue with an msd 6a/6al hehe

yes, i replaced the crank position, cylinder position, and TDC sensors.

im going to plug the new engine harness on, and also throw on ANOTHER new dizzy, ignitor and coil.

god i love having spare parts

sorry, shorthand for distributor. the CKP, CYP and TDC sensors are all inside.

I had an incling but I had to ask. When you replaced the distributor... did you replace it with a NEW unit?

no, not new. dont have any extra h22 distributors, and wasnt about to spend 200 on one. i replaced all of the guts with those from an f22 dizzy that i know works (worked) perfectly.

This weekend I put a msd ss coil on my car everything was hooked up right and came across the same problem dont know if you fixed it yet but did you replace your igniter with a new one or a used one. Mine was good before I started but i guess the first time i tried to fire it up the ignitor went I tested the old one and two of the terminals were good but the ones that send the signal for the coil to spark were bad. I bought a new put it on and everything is ok now the honda tech i talked to said it might of been week and the coil might of finished it off hope this helps I felt so helpless when I couldnt figure mine out Ive never had something so simple kick my butt so bad

My dad just got done fixing a cb that had a very similar situation, i went over there(cause its my boss's car) and looked at it, and it had the exact same symptoms as yours, i finally just told my dad to go over there and look at it.

Ended up being the ignition relay under the fuse box. Its worth a shot, dont know if you already looked at it or not. Im sure you have a spare one laying around.

So you have voltage going to the coil, but none comming out? Is that new coil you tried bad as well? So no spark is getting from coil to distributor?

interesting. i do have a few laying around, ill throw one in and see if that makes a difference. the relay under the engine fusebox, right? do you know what exactly its for? ive never really heard mention of it anywhere, and im not sure of its exact function.

correct. ive tried 2 new coils, both of which were good (work on my other car). its not cap/rotor/wire/sparkplug related, theres no spark coming out of the coil itself, but it is getting power at its connector.

Yup exact same problem as this cb7. Had power going To the coil and distributor, so maybe we thought one of the wires that sent the signal back to the coil was bad also, like kricket.

WE tried new coils, checked the ecu to make sure it wasnt shorted out for some reason. And i just have to add that auto ecus suck ass when it comes to removing the ECU.

my next move was getting a different coil/ignitor to try but my dad found the problem.
