Car won't start. Just replaced battery. It will pop-start... bad starter?

Just as the title says. I turn the key and I get *click*. Nothing. Won't crank.

I pop-started it, and it started right up. Got it home, and *click* again.

The only thing I can think of is the starter... I just spent $150 on a battery (needed one anyway) so I really don't want to drop another buncha money on a starter if that's not the problem!

thats what crazyvtec93h22's starter was doing... threw his old one in and it worked perfectly.

Damn... sounds like I'm dropping more money on the car today...

New starter FTW! (I'm making it into an obscenity... )

          Wait!!! No!!!!!!

I had a problem like this...it turned out to be the negative battery cable. It was rotten. I could jump start the car no problem and I was getting decent voltage on the old battery...I checked the wire and it was all caked through with that cyan powder. I changed it, it started right up, haven't had a problem since. I just don't want you throwing $70-80 at a new battery...check the wire!!!

true... what i didnt mention was that i cleaned and redid the ground wires before trying the old starter again, and that didnt help.

not having a good enough ground, the starter wont get full current and may not have enough power to crank the motor over...

Just got the starter... were there automatic USDM H22s? The woman behind the counter didn't ask me if it was auto or 5 speed, and I didn't think to ask (I was hungry, and not really with it!) I have 2 connectors with nuts on them, and the one clip-on connector... Strangely, I only remember one. I'm about to go start removing the old one, but I figured I'd ask before I ran out there and got frustrated!

Ok, cool. Then I'm on track. I have the old one out, new one ready to go in.

I have to transplant the bracket for the radiator hose. That long bolt that runs the length of the assembly has to come off... will that change anything inside if I undo it? I don't want to mess it up!

Ok... snapped off the main lead on the first one... got another one.

Installed it, turned the key... *click.

Now I have NOTHING. No accessory power or anything. Absolutely nothing whatsoever.
I checked all the fuses. None seem to be blown. What else could be the issue? I'm stuck... and really pissed.
