I am swapping my auto for a 5 speed. I know I should use the 5 speed engine harness. What about the harness that goes back into the cabin? Can I just leave the auto harness in there and plug the 5 speed harness into it?

use all of your stock harnesses. 5spd engine harness wont mate to the auto cabin harness.

good luck with the swap. for most people, the wiring is the most confusing part, and the guide i linked to has incorrect wire colors.

Allright I understand that part, the only thing I can't figure out is the guide says to cut 5 connectors off of the harness from the tranny. It says
Cut off both counter shaft speed sensor connectors, the torque lock-up connector, and up/down shift connector. Leave the torque lock-up wires (yellow and green/black) exposed and re-tape the harness.

i wouldnt try to think it over TOO much before you actually start doing the conversion. when you have the 5spd tranny mounted and are attempting to hook the old harness back up to it, youll clearly see the plugs that dont go to anything that can be cut off.
