    Removing Cylinder Head

Well guy's i searched all over for this info online, (on here to) and couldnt find shit. Anything with cylinder heads showed up head swaps that told nothing how to get them off. I need to take my head off and take the block and head into a shop because 1 cylinder has low compression. Its a h22a4, and im wondering how to take the head off the block, thanks.

definately recommend buying a chiltons manual if youre going to be swapping heads.

it explains the loosening order and the torquedown specs for everything, and a step by step guide (with diagrams and pics) explaining how to pull the head off and inspect it.

i can never stress it enough, everybody needs to BUY A MANUAL for their car!

Yeah, the 15 bux will be worth it. also search online for a helms manual. One thing is for sure, have a good quality ratchet set, cuz I broke about 4 cheap sockets then used the craftsman and it worked.

you can always look to a head swap as guidelines dude..its the same thin...your still taking off a head and it should tell u how to: take off coolant hoses, vac hoses, power steering pump, exhaust manifold, timing belt, oil drain coolant drain, anything attached to the head or distrib or intake needs to be removed then u can get into taking off the head bolts...but def shop manual dont atempt one without unless u got some years and know how to do a project like that......

the hanes manual is only 15 not 60 and it explanes every thing you need to do yes the other manual is more detailed but you really dont need to know whats the size of every rivit on the car ... side note i always find it easier to take the head of while the intake is still attached, its a pain to try to reach under the intake while its on to get to the couple bolts in the botom ...just a sugestion ...

In Need of an engine, just a basic f22a...pm me if you have one willing to part with.

Its sometimes easier to look in the little book for stuff, but the helms is great. I have one for my engine, and one for the car. And I have 2 haynes(1 came with car). I mostly use them for wiring and torque specifications now, but when i had to mess with taking the motor apart the helms was great since the haynes skipped stuff and didnt have very good pictures.
