hey guys so my car was a mess because 90% of my tools as well as the jack were inside it ... fixing stuff and then I stopped at an army checkpoint ( I don't live in the US ) and that illiterate decided to do the hero of security and he broke the handle of my glovebox when he tried to open it ... the glove box is not locked ... ... but it wouldn't open !! and I have a lot of my tools inside the box !! .... how do I open it ????????

by the way the portion where you insert the key is still intact.

Even removing the bottom 4 screws will not allow it to un-hitch. You need to try to pull on what the handle pulls on. You may even have to brake the glove box to get it open. The handle portion is plastic and the metal ring it clicks on to is metal. Best of luck!

if you use a skinny screwdriver, you can unlatch the pin at the top through the gap.

            Was this the U.S. Army?

Wonder why it broke if it wasn't locked.

Maybe it was locked and you didn't realize it?

The glovebox setups on Honda's always felt flimsy.

Can we change the title of this thread?

I don't think stand by myself in saying that I support the US army, and that the title "F the Army" is disrespectful, and vulgar.

"F'ing" the Army is not what CB7 Tuners stand for.

I stated clearly that I DONT LIVE IN THE US !! and that soldier was illiterate .... and anyone that screws with my Honda is not welcome.

That day I was really pissed off cause I had changed my IM gasket as well as solving an oil well problem ... and then came this.

Thanks guys for your suggestions will try my best, at least with removing the screws I can get my tools out.

PS: where I live cb7 parts still cost good money ... for example I might not find a glove box ... most probably they will sell me a whole dashboard. my anger is justified.

By the way, where can I buy a NEW engine wire harness for my CB7 ... at ebay I only found used engine harnesses

I never lock my glove box .. I put my small tools and wrenches in it. Also I have a habit of putting my wallet in it, good thing I didn't this time.

I think you need to recognize that not everyone shares his opinion or yours. Vulgar yes, but it expresses his concerns. If I say F walmart does it mean everyone on this forum disagrees with me?

He could of used more polite language but you cannot speak for all cb7tuners.

Title edited for vulgarity. Had I seen this before anyone had responded, it would have been deleted. This site is viewed by parents of young children, people at work, and people that don't care to read vulgarity when they are simply looking to learn about cars (or share their own knowledge.) I also corrected the spelling, so this thread might actually show up in a search in the future.

I understand that you're upset, EsperHamid... but please show respect to those you're asking for help.

As cp[mike] said, try a thin screwdriver to move the latch. It is very possible that the thief caused damage, possibly even maliciously.

Dear Deevergote, I do apologize for using this vulgar language, as I explained before I just finished working on it and the incident happened and it WAS NOT the US army as I don't live in the US and people recruited in my country's army are not all educated or even have basic education or manners ... it is complicated and not topic related also I was very angry when I wrote about my problem.

it is not the thief and it is not the US army ... it is one of the army checkpoints in my country, had the soldier asked me to open it for him, it wouldn't have happened.

Again thanks for CP[MIKE] I was able to open it and thank you for your support so far.

again it is NOT the US army and NOBODY is perfect. I apologize again for writing the F word.

                        Regards.
                        Hamid

The big deal wasn't the comment about the army. That's fine. You are entitled to your opinion (though it is unnecessary in a thread title.) The vulgarity is against the rules of this community, however.

I'm glad the advice given in this thread helped you solve the problem.

At this point, that's your only option. They are discontinued and you can't find them at Majestic.

If you know what you're doing with wiring, you can always use old connectors and add new wires.
