    Removing the 5th brake light

I am having trouble removing my brake light that is located on top of my back seat below my window. I have looked in the 3 different manuels i have bought but nothing tells me how to remove it. I need to take it off so i can put foam around it, it vibrates horibly every time my base hits. I just had in dynomated but that did not help it any obviously. I have a 1990 cb7. Thanks for any help provided
Girls are like yellow lights, do i go for it or do i stop?

Well, there's a couple bolts underneath it, but those are just to make you think that removal is gonna be easy. In reality, you have to let the back seat down and remove most of the rear deck. It's not really that hard, just time consuming. Good luck, don't lose/break anything.

^^ what he said. But i think he is saying the 5th brake light cause there are 5 bulbs that light up when u step on the brakes.

Haha Ricky, he said he wants to remove it to put foam so it doesn't rattle. Not eliminate it altogether.

Yeah you'll have to take apart most of the deck, an assortment of bolts and clips. It should all be visible.

Most auto parts stores refer to that light as the HMSL: High Mount Stop Lamp.

however most humans such as ourselves call it a 3rd brake light.

Thanks for your help. I do not want to waste more time then it is worth. Does anyone have a estimate on how long it would take to pull the back deck out and put it back in.

How about this: You do it and time it. Its not gonna kill ya. I'd do it but I have no need to take apart my back deck. See how long it takes, take some digicam pics, and then write up a DIY on it for others to see so the question of 'how do I take out my third brake light' is already answered and we can tell people to use the search button. thanks.

Damn that thing rattles so bad when my sub hits hard, I managed to roll up paper towel and floss it in the crevice and it stopped it pretty well.
