    Changing rear window motors

The time has come to replace my degrading back window motor.
Last I checked (Fall 2012) I was able to roll it down, but it needed some help getting back up.
I know I'll need to remove the window before I take out the motor.

What is easier/more advisable, removing the window/motor with it down, or with it up?

Try using silicone spray on the window rubber trim then try to work the windows up and down, motor might not be the main problem but aging dusty rubber window trims

I took the windows out last year to tint them.
I'm wondering in terms of the window motor, if it would be easier to remove it while its extended or contracted.

As far as silicone spray, do you mean just the kind of stuff that comes out of a spray bottle?

I wiped the grease off when I did the tint, so that's something I've been wondering as well.

well yeah because somtimes my motors would slow down, then I got the silicone spray, I spray on the rubber trims and the window would come up and down pretty good so in my case the motors were fine, the original rubber trims needed replacement... but still I didn't replace yet , so still using the silicone spray every now and then especially in summer

If you are going to lube the tracks use graphite. If you are going to take the motor out the last thing you do is unclip the electric as you may need to roll it up and down to get at all the ten mm bolts in the door. They will line up with holes when the window is at the right height.
......father in law has it back again. Time to shine

Actually moly lube is what Honda used, I wouldn't use a dry lube where a moly grease should be.

Can I have a consensus on using silicone or white lithium?

You're the one who I've seen lamenting about wiping the grease off in the first place, so I'll take your word for it.
