Hello everyone. So I took out the trunk lift support from my 92 EX 2dr to bend the ends a little bit so I could install some JL 6x9s. When I put them back in they do nothing now and the trunk is so heavy with the spoiler on I cannot even pop it from inside the car. I was wondering if anyone has ever installed trunk shocks or something else thay might work?

I've seen people keep a 2x4 or a pipe to prop open the trunk, in their car.
When you bend the supports, it ruins there purpose..Last edited by AAPOQ; 04-18-2013, 12:35 PM.

You're not showing us how to "do it yourself" (in this case I'm thankful) so I'm moving it to the correct section. Only post in the DIY section if you have a guide. My Members' Ride Thread - It's a marathon build, not a sprint. But keep me honest on the update frequency!

its a torsion spring and probably needs preloading before reinstallation. I think theres also more than one notch for the spring to sit in
I just cut the inch or so off the ends with an angle grinder to let my infinity 6x9's magnet fit.

Maybe you can install some CD5 trunk struts..
