    Parking brake cable replacement?

    Hi everybody,
I have a 92 Accord EX Auto 4 doors with disc rear brakes and the parking brake is slightly lose and my mechanic said that the rear passenger side cable is broken and is was really hard to replace it but he didn't tell me the price of his labor.

The Honda OEM one costs around $75+ and an aftermarket at Autozone around $40.

Do you have an idea how much will it be fair to charge/paid for the labor to see if is worth it?

Is it hard to replace it if I don't know anything about brakes?

Friends are telling me not to bother wasting money because is not needed that much on automatic cars but it might fail the yearly inspection.

    What do you guys think?

When mine was loose its because My rear Passenger Side Bracket Caliper was bad.

      Make sure the cables move.

When the mechanic put the car on the lift with the parking brake on, he just move the wheel and right away said the cable is broken and needs to be replaced.

I have to go back in a couple days and I will check if the cable moves.

        Thanks for the advise.

So, how much should I pay if is the cable for labor only?

Honda dealer asked $220 for 2 hours of labor plus the price of the cable.

See if the cables move. If they do like in mine, it's the calipers.
I have no idea how much replacing the cables should be. Honda dealerships are at least $100 per hour.
