if youre looking at the side of the motor from the timing belt side, the balance shaft on the left (the front one) should have a notch cut out on the shaft behind the sprocket that should line up with a mark on the block. for the rear balance shaft (on the right) there is no specific mark to line up, but there is a plug bolt on the back of the motor, closest to the timing belt side... its a 12mm i believe, and it should have a washer type of thing attached to the head of the bolt. if you pull that out, itll let you hold the balance shaft in place with a screwdriver, apparently there is a hole going straight thru the shaft. so slide a screwdriver into the hole and twist the shaft around until the screwdriver pops in all the way, preventing you from turning the shaft any more. with those two lined up, make sure the crank sprocket (lower middle) has its mark lined up, and the belt gets slid on. install the tensioner and make sure the balancer belt is still installed straight and everything lines up, then you should be good. if you dont know proper procedure for adjusting the tension and whatnot, or even just doing the timing belt, you should reference a manual, a Helms or a Chiltons would work best... and make sure to install that 12mm plug bolt before you close everything up or youll be losing a lot of oil hehe
