Engine warm up for high revs

Ever since I got my tune it seems like it takes longer around 20-30 min until I can hit my rev limit. My question is how long does it usually take to warm up the engine until you can hit your rev limit and does the time it takes for my engine to warm up seem like its taking to long? Thanks in advanced

I didn't know there was a rev limit. I try not to do this until it gets warm, but on take off from a light I usually go up to 3k, but occasionally (lately) I've been hitting 5k. Whats the cold rev limit set at?

My cold start rev limit is at 6.5k and when the engine is warm at 8k. I typically wait about 15 min till I'll do a 2nd gear pull but stops me at 6.5k which makes me think the engine isn't warmed up, at the right engine temperature, and isn't at the right oil pressure. So lately I've been waiting 20-25 min minimum until I'll run it a little hard. I'm just not sure if that seems longer than usual for you to hit your max rev limit which is 8k in my case.

So does your needle say it's warm? You may have a messed up temp sensor that sends the signal to the ecu located on the head. It's the one with the white plug in the middle. Easy to find pocket item at the junk yard

your needle should be at the half way mark before you go into VTEC, I'm assuming you have an H22. I don't even go past 3k until the car is at operating temp. because it won't engage VTEC and its bad for the engine.

Takes about 2 miles or so driving on city streets, about 5 min. or less before its up at operating temp.

LoL I don't redline my engine when it's cold. What I meant by cold start was even after 15 min of driving when my temp. sensor has been at the half way mark for 5-10min already it still stops at 6.5k which I considered a cold start, but I guess it's not so my bad for not explaining myself. However, when I wait about 20-25min or longer it'll let me go to 8k, but yes it is a H22 and it usually takes about 5min for my temp sensor to hit the half way mark, but I'm the same way when I first start driving my car for the day usually shifting around 2.5k. I'll look into seeing if something is wrong with my temp sensor though, thanks guys for the input.

The temp for the gauge and ECU come from different sensors.

Your ECT is probably just getting old and lazy, I think its the 2 pin right under the distributor.

where should that pin plugged into? Right now its not plugged into anything, because i cant find anywhere to put it in on my h22.
