picture of the countershaft seal retainer, its the goldish curved thing. notice how deep into the motor it is, its something you usually add while doing the timing belt. very cheap from the dealer and i recommend that in ALL CASES on all motors ADD IT if you get the chance, at ANY mileage.

Also I thought I heard something about the timing belt now being done every 90mi or 5 years. Wasn't sure if that is true.
Supposedly, all newer model Hondas have a lifetime fuel filter....not to sure how I feel about that. Our cars however, the filter is supposed to be changed at the recomended intervals.

As for the t-belt, every 90K or 6 years whichever comes first.....and this is NOT an item you want to put off. Just follow the schedule and you can't go wrong.

BTW, great pic of the seal retainer cpmike. This is a MUST for our cars.

Thanks. Ok so actually our cars should be grandfathered in so to speak and Honda dealers should still be replacing the fuel filter then. I know the dealership I go to, did not bother to do this in ages, giving the its now a lifetime answer... Sounds like I'll bring it up to them when I'm at the 230k mile service.

From page 129 of 1993 owners manual.

I would only do this with a Honda fuel filter. I would replace an after market fuel filter every 30,000 miles.
It really is a labor of love making a neglected CB7 with "normal wear and tear" into something worth being proud of.
