    Newbie Question...

Is my car supposed to have 2 areas to put brake fluid. There are two, one on the right, one on the left to the rear of the engine that say stuff about brake fluid. Just seems a little odd. Checking to make sure I don't mess anything up. Thanks

the big one is for your brakes, the little one on the right side is for your clutch. the clutch system uses brake fluid (there is no "clutch" fluid), so hence the text about DOT 3/4 brake fluid

both resevoirs should be kept between the MIN and MAX lines... if either go empty by themselves, thats a bad thing.

If you have a 93 ex, the other one may be for your Anti-lock brakes.

if its a 92 or 93 ex you have 3 resivoirs for brake fluid. if ur looking at ur engine bay from directly in fron tof the car, the two on your right are brake master cylinder resivor, which is big, and ur clutch master cylinder resivoir whihc is little. the on ur left is another resivoir that has an orange cap, that is you ABS motor, that should be kept in between iwht fluid also. hope that helped.-eric

i am curious which fluid i should use for my 90 accord ex. will the valvoline syn one be good?

also, if i open a bottle for top off purposes how long will it be till it is no good? i read that u can't expose air to the brake fluid.
              hahahahah

1 Use anything rated DOT3 or better.
2 No, you can't expose moisture or humidity to brake fluid.
3 As long as you keep the cap sealed tightly it should keep indefinately.
