Car swerves/jerks to the right while braking hard

Any idea what it could be? Alignment, wheel bearing, rotors, etc? I just don't wanna go around replacing everything unnecessarily.

It could possibly be a stuck caliper/wheel cylinder on the right side of the car. Also, check the tightness of the suspension components very thorougly.

Alignment, brakes seizing, out of adjustment, wear, tire pressure are the most common causes.

Pull the slide pins out, see if any are rusted - one of mine was and mine was pulling hard to that side. Went away when I replaced it and re-lubed.

Check the Torsion Rod and its Bushings. Most likely culprit

Is that the same as the radius rods? Sorry for the noob questions, i'm so out of this shit.

my car does the same thing. it started happening after i changed my tranny. it jerks to the right, which is the side that i removed the radius rod to get the tranny out. i think i may have over-tightened it.

it's weird though with my car. sometimes i can do a really hard brake and it's straight as an arrow, and sometimes it almost puts itself in the ditch.

i would clean and lube the sliders first. if that doesn't do the trick check into getting new radius rod bushings and torquing everything down properly.

also... do you're balljoints, tie rods, or tie rod ends have any play at all?

check out all the bushings in teh front end... it could be anything really (upper control arm bushings come to mind for some reason...)

It could be a number of things. Mine was steering to the right because of worn brake pads and rear shoes ( drum brakes). You can tell if your BRAKE light turns on. And a contributor to this was a blown passenger strut

Also, I hear a slight metallic rubbing or grinding sound from the passenger side while coasting. If I'm accelerating it either goes away or I just can't hear it.

                        sounds like a stuck caliper.

also we bled the brakes yesterday, thought it might help. It didn't at all. And the master cylinder is going bad, soft pedal. Tollerable for now, I would like to just brake straight. While bleeding the right side gripped and released fine, could it still be a stuck or bad caliper?

id try pulling the calipers off to see if either is seized or rusted or wearing crooked. my first thought was also a stuck caliper.

you say the right side gripped and released fine, what about the left ?

yea, we did all 4. They all felt fine sitting in the garage. While driving home after, same thing.
