how to open hood when hood release is busted

well my car was broken into about a month ago and the effin thieves yanked the shit out of the hood release in my fenderwell and now i can't even open the hood by yanking the hood release wire (why the hell did honda put the wire there????)

anywho, does anyone know a quick method to pop the hood without using the hood release mechanism, or a way around it? need help asap

    thanks fellas

take a long flat head screwdriver and stick it into the grill, to the left of the "H" emblem. look into the grill and you should see a horizontal slit in the hood release mechanism. now take slide the screwdriver sideways towards the passenger side of the car. you should feel some resistance. keep pulling until the hood pops open. hopefully you don't have that guard covering the mechanism. good luck!
O'skool fo sho! You might hate, but I been doin' this long before you know.

thanks a lot bro! i think i know what you mean, but I'll have to give it a closer inspection tomorrow morning

regarding the guard...hmm...I know my 92-93 grille has like a 1.5" wide backing on one side of the 'H', and I'm not sure if it's the left or right

hopefully it's not the side where the mechanism is

      thanks again man
