Top Dead Center using lasers ?

Does anyone know if the Honda dealerships use some special machine with lasers to put the car in TDC instead of relying on the old school method?

I highly doubt they would waste money on some high tech laser machine when all they have to do is simply stick a long screwdriver down the spark plug hole.

Probably not, it is easiest to set the flywheel to TDC and then verify the "old school" marks while you are changing the belt. That is why Honda did it the way they did.

i cant imagine anything requiring TDC to be more "exact" than how closely you can line it up with your eyeball...

the flywheel is about twice the size of the damper so it should be more accurate unless the flywheel is aftermarket and marked incorrectly.

put a dial indicator on the end of a 10" ratchet extension down the spark plug hole and you can find exactly where tdc is.
