    quick easy PS question

My steering rack is pretty empty do to working on it . If I disconnect the belt for the power steering pump will fluid still get sucked into the rack ( at a slower rate of cource) or is the only way to get fluid back into the rack is by using the pump?

    Thanks

lets just say the rack is empty along with the lines and my pump is no longer working.. All my lines are still connected but will the rack gravity fill or fill just by suction or will I have to physically fill the rack myself?

          Thanks

ummm that question is almost close to that old saying..."If a tree falls down in the woods and no one is around to hear it- does it make a sound?"...so haha idk, it sounds like you wanna hear a different answer btw.

Im just trying to get A anwser.

              Ill write it again.

Will my RACK fill with oil if the pump is broken just from filling the reservior or do I have to phsyically have to pull a line to fill the rack??

I don't no why theres so much confusion.

if your rack is empty, then your lines are probably empty...so your going to need to add fluid somehow. I dont think the fluid from the resivoir will get pulled in without the pump going.

Try reseaching a DX non power assisted steering rack. They DO make them, but idk exactly what parts they need to be self lubricating or whatever w/o the PS pump. You might need to buy some specific hardware unique to the non power rack.

I'm not sure about it, heck, it could be the same as a power one, except w/ a block off plate or something....research it a bit on Majestic Honda online, http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/...A4AT&catcgry5= and see if it is the same

There was never a CB7 that came without power steering.

all CB7s came with power steering, so there is no such thing as a DX manual rack.

and im pretty sure between gravity and suction that it would probably pull fluid down into the rack, but im not positive if it would for sure... before you remove the belt, add a little bit of fluid and bleed the system out, and THEN remove it. that way youre sure its in there...
