    Confusing door lock issue

Ok, well im havin some issue with my automatic door locks. When i get out of the car and push down on the little lever to lock all the doors, it works fine. But when i go to unlock all the doors with the little lever switch, it doesnt work. None of the doors will unlock. The thing is though, if i go to my hatch to lock or unlock doors, it locks or unlocks all the doors. So why doesnt my little door lock switch unlock all the doors if the the hatch will?

Try pulling door handle out (inside) while trying to unlock or lock the doors

Well the little switch for the auto lock will LOCK all the doors but it will not unlock any. But when i go to unlock the hatch on the wagon with the key it will lock AND unlock all doors. So im trying to figure out why the switch will lock but not unlock all the doors. Both of the switches, driver and passenger side, will only lock but not unlock.

Hmm, the hatch thing I think that is how it is supposed to be, Not positive but I think so. As far as the inside lock/unlock switch. When you push up do the manual unlock latches go back a little bit and then forward again where you can barely see any orange? If that makes sense?

yeah the hatch is suppose to do that, im just saying it cuz that will unlock all the doors yet the actual auto lock will not. My locks are the push up and down lock style, not the left and right flip if thats what you mean. And when i push the lever to unlock, the locks dont even flinch.

Yea your locks have the auto style up-down switch and also the manual foward-back those are the ones that I was talking about. But you said they didn't move so, you might need new actuators maybe? Have you tried the pulling out door handle while flipping the switch up or down at the same time trick?

yes i have tried and no i have the up and down manual locks too. The switch and the locks are the up and down style as i stated before. I dont understand how i would need new actuators if unlocking the hatch unlocks all the doors...... Its just the auto switch wont unlock all the doors. It just doesnt make sense to me.

Try swapping the switch from the passenger side and see if it fixes it. If it does, you have a bad switch.

no because the passenger side wont unlock the doors either.....it also locks but will not unlock.

my car does a similar thing, but its because I do the door lock trick when I get out of my car. Once I pull the handle and lock the doors, the doors cant unlock until the drivers door has been closed. Its designed to not let you lock the keys inside. Once you have done the trick, the actuators on the other 3 doors dont go up because the drivers door actuator wont go up, it is the main part of the system and since it wont go up until the door is closed the system thinks that you pushed the lock down and in turn keeps the other doors locked also.

i think that just got really confusing, but in practice it is really simple.

its just that they didnt include the functionality into all the locks. auto-lock on the driver door works, lock/unlock on the hatch works, and thats it, and how its supposed to be.

the whole pull-the-handle-to-lock-it-from inside is just a safety feature, and is definitely not what the OP is talking about...

Alright here it is. If you notice that both driver and passenger side lock will lock all the doors but will not unlock the doors. And they hatch will do both. Why is that?

maybe the control unit in the door needs to be replaced. i dont think you are supposed to be able to lock the drivers door with the door open, that seems kinda odd. it usually has to be closed to lock it the way you did it in the video.
