extreme oil sludge buildup: suggestions?

    yep, after everything was cleaned up, this motor was definitely good. some slight variation in the compression results but all were close within range and looked good. like carlos said no wear on the cams or crank and no sign of damage ANYwhere in the motor. with all the ports and galleys cleaned out and every seal replaced, this motor is in better condition probably than its ever been. like my dad said, "if only people would take the time to do things like this, all our cars would be running a lot longer" :P

      The few times I've seen build up like that ,turned out to be some type of "stop leak" put in by the owner because of an oil leak. Glad things worked out.

        very possible, and i actually was thinking that, considering how the oil pan, both cams, and both crank seals were leaking.
